Hello. I was in the UP on vacation over the weekend with my boyfriend.
Our travels took us from Mackinaw City up to Whitefish Point. I saw some of those missing person posters and it sent chills down my spine.
My heart goes out to all the families. I wish I could help in some way.
God bless you for your good work and efforts.

Dear Family Of Christopher Hallaxs:
I am a friend to Derrick Ray Henagan, one of those that are Missing along with your loved one in the woods. I just wanted to let you all know that we the Family and Friend's of Derrick Henagan have been praying for you all and your loved one, I know this is a hard time for you all and just sometimes I know that it helps us to know that we are not alone, so I wanted to let you know that you all are not alone at anytime because you all are always in our thoughts and prayers!
I am sure you have seen that God has sent us (the family and friends of the Missing) an Angel by the name of Michael Neiger and I know in my heart that this man is one of a kind and that he puts all his heart and soul into finding our loved ones, so with that said there is still a little hope for us all. So in closing just keep up your faith that one day you to will know where your loved one is and if needed be able to lay them to rest. I do hope that you all get some answers very soon for Christopher.
Mike, Thank You so much for all you do for the families of the Missing, what would we do without you? So THANK YOU OUR ANGEL!!
Our thought's are with your family,
—Jody Rogers, Coloma, Michigan, Friend of Derrick Ray Henagan Missing Since August 4th, 2008, September 1, 2009

Hi, Mike.
I was one of Chris' best friends, via internet. I got the link to [Chris' Web site] from Lisa....
I just can't write any more now—I've been sobbing for 45 minutes after reading some of his old writing [on Chris' Web site]—some of it is pared-down versions of emails he sent me. (We chatted almost every day, and if not, emailed.)
Thank you for helping us. I'm not Christian, but what you're doing is what I think of as God's work...so God bless you, or in my religion, the Goddess is with you.
This is really giving me hope, and I suspect it's doing the same for Lisa.
Blessed be.

I don't know why, but this search and rescue stuff has been on my mind, and heart, ever since we met you over the 4th. I can't get this out of my mind….people are missing up there in the North woods, and there might be clues near our property as to what happened to them [especially the Chris Hallaxs case].
I've looked up the MiBSAR site numerous times, reading up on what you and your partner have done in the last few months in your searches for clues. I don't know how you do it, going into the backwoods and enduring the heat/cold, bugs, wet conditions, etc., but thank God there are people like you willing to do it....
You are in my prayers Michael, and please take care of yourself. I don't want to read that you've come up missing out there ! I hope we run into each other again sometime this summer…I would be interested in hearing about your progress on the investigations.
I'm keeping you and the families of the missing persons in my prayers. Be safe.

[I] read up on your searches for those 3 missing people. I am intrigued, a little scared but also hopeful that someday, SOMEONE will find real clues/evidence as to what happened to those 3. My heart goes out to their families….you can’t have closure until you know!
You should be commended for the work you (& your co-horts) do, Michael, and I wish you all the best in your continued searches.

Again, we just can't thank you enough for all of your time and efforts! We know you are spending many, many hours for us.
